BC Doublewall Caliper Comparison

Dave asks:

On 48 BC what should be the caliper going into the machine and going out.

Thank you for the question and it’s a bigger one than you can imagine. The simple answer is 0.261 to 0.271 and then I would say, it depends. There are over 15 different C flute and B flute profiles-each. Then there are all the possible linerboard and medium combinations with their different calipers.

With the converting machines in perfect running specifications, the correct die boards and rubber, and the best printing plates you should only lose 2 to 3 thousands “springback” crush. What are you experiencing? What incoming caliper do your suppliers “guarantee?”
